Cindy Ficken, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families. She has worked in the public school system and outpatient hospital setting providing crisis, individual, group, and parent counseling and conducting parenting classes. She sees herself as a partner for her clients, assisting them in navigating through life’s stressors and challenges in order to achieve personal success and harmony. Utilizing her client-centered approach to understanding the individual challenges that are unique to you. She has a warm relatable approach, coupled with strong clinical skills, and a passion to assist you in developing your own strengths. Her experience at the Behavioral Medicine Center brings an increased understanding in a multiple level Outpatient Hospital treatment approach. She was the lead therapist in the Child Partial Hospitalization Program, and worked in the Adolescent Chemical Dependency program with adolescents and their families. Additionally, she has a son that has special needs. Due to his ADHD he struggled in his academics and, peer relationships, which impacted his self-esteem. She watched as he was bullied and often misunderstood by his teachers. With that, she brings to your sessions a unique perspective on just how personal these challenges are.
