Debbie Reno-Smith is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been committed to serving others in the health and wellness field for over twenty five years. She holds licenses in two States, is a National Certified Counselor and Master Addiction Counselor, International Mindfulness Teacher, and is endorsed as an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist Reflective Practice Facilitator III/Mentor in the State of California. She has provided direct services to families, supervised and developed professionals, established programs utilizing evidence based practices, managed facilities, and has instructed numerous courses in the community and higher education settings.
Debbie passionately believes in the power of connection and support as the pathway to healing, resiliency, and growth as human beings. She adheres to a reflective practice approach that fosters exploration through compassion, honoring individual uniqueness, maximizing personal strengths and capabilities, with a strong focus on integration of mind, body and spirit connection. Debbie has worked extensively with children from birth through adolescence, into early adulthood, families, and professionals in the helping fields. Areas of focus include a broad range of life issues such as empathy fatigue, balancing the demands of workload and personal life, anxiety, depression, feelings of hopelessness, all levels of exposure to traumatic experiences, social/emotional and other regulatory challenges, as well as a wide range of personal life stressors. She is a strong ally and support for those who have and continue to experienced inequity, discrimination, systematic racism and generational trauma. In her personal life Debbie loves to spend time in nature with her family, hiking, biking, enjoying the mountains and the beach. She enjoys reading and journaling and has a long-time daily mindfulness practice.
