Dr. Antonio Becerra, Psy.D.

Dr. Becerra is an exemplar in the field of clinical psychology. He has committed a significant portion of this academic and clinical expereince to understanding and treating mental health challenges in children, adolescents and young adults. In addition to his clinical work Dr. Becerra is also passionate about educating new mental health professionals, has experience teaching graduate level courses in group therapy and brief psychodynamic therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. Additionally, Dr. Becerra has contributed to the field of clinical psychology by conducting original research investigating the relationship between therapeutic alliance factors, acculturation and treatment outcomes.
For over a decade Dr. Becerra has been committed to treating mental health concerns impacting youth and families including depression, oppositional defiant behaviors, adjustment issues, life transitions, family conflict, parenting issues, anxiety, motivational problems, multi-cultural issues, relational problems, anger management and traumatic events. His therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration and the cultivation of a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental therapeutic space for children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Becerra is skilled at utilizing psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral treatment strategies to help individuals and families move toward improved mental health by becoming more aware of how their emotions, thoughts, beliefs and behavior may be maintaining distress and how these can be modified to promote healthy and positive change.
